Twenty Six Days to Go

We had an ultrasound on Friday, and confirmed he has a turtle. That's code for Grant is still Grant (sigh, of relief) He is head down and facing my spine like a good little boy, so he's all ready to make his grand entrance, whenever that might be :)

Doctor says we are still on track for August 23rd, so nothing on the ultrasound indicated he needed to come earlier or anything like that. She estimated Grant's weight at 6lbs 4oz, this number is usually a little high, but it's a good weight est. for his age. He'll be gaining about a half a pound a week from here to due date, which makes him an averaged sized little guy :)

We didn't get any good pictures, since he was facing my spine, so no pictures to share unless you want to double check he is a he. ;)

At 37 weeks, Grant's body is developed enough to survive outside of the womb. His lungs, now filled with amniotic fluid, are ready to take his first breaths of air. His eyelids flutter open and shut preparing for his first views of the world.

This baby is just about done growing. At nearly six pounds, six ounces and 14 inches in length (crown to rump) he can come any day now!
